VALUES

CUSTOMERS FIRST:

It's our goal to prioritize our customers without compromise. That means putting our customers first before retailers, PR, marketing and advertising while always staying true to our intentions and values.

We choose to be a direct to consumer business so we can utilize the wholesale margin to instead pour every last ounce of goodness into each product delivered to your door and onto your skin; because your health and wellness is paramount.

It's our goal to do all of this while still delivering accessible and sustainable price points on products chock full of, not just natural and plant-derived, but certified USDA organic ingredients and Ecocert approved ingredients. Once you find a product that works for you, we want to make sure it's possible for you to afford to continue to use it on a regular basis.

We prioritize our customers by choosing sustainable packaging wherever possible while always choosing safe and protective packaging to help prevent unnecessary, preventable and premature degradation and contamination of the product.

SUSTAINABILITY is #1:

For the sake of your health and the earth's health, it's our goal to deliver the most sustainable version of each product through sustainable and mindful ingredients, packaging, shipping materials and renewable energy resources. This is an ongoing and evolving process that we are always working to optimize.

Ingredients: We prioritize Certified USDA Organic Ingredients wherever possible because they are better for you and your skin (more nutrient dense and less toxic) and more sustainable for the environment.

"The USDA organic regulations describe organic agriculture as the application of a set of cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that support the cycling of on-farm resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. These include maintaining or enhancing soil and water quality; conserving wetlands, woodlands, and wildlife; and avoiding use of synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering.

Organic producers use natural processes and materials when developing farming systems—these contribute to soil, crop and livestock nutrition, pest and weed management, attainment of production goals, and conservation of biological diversity." source

Componentry: We are working towards the most sustainable and recyclable packaging solution for each product. For example, the Ocean Saltwater Clarifying Cleanser is now packaged in a recyclable tube made of sugarcane materials - a bio-plastic made from a renewable resource. The body scrubs are now packaged in recyclable jars made of PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) material. The Clarifying Salt Soak is now packaging in a recyclable bag made of plant-based material.

Certified USDA Organic Facility: Our facility is a Certified USDA Organic Processing and Handling facility. The strict and purposeful OSP (Organic System Protocol) manufacturing and processing protocols we follow to maintain our certification extends to the manufacturing of all products. This means only OSP approved environmentally friendly cleaning and sanitizing products are used, all packaging is recycled, all organic and non-organic ingredients are stored under optimal conditions and can be traced from their source, to the purchase order, to the formula, to the batch and finally to the end product.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC INGREDIENTS AT TOP OF INGREDIENT LIST:

Every time you use a skincare product presents an opportunity to do something good for your skin and your body. We prioritize Certified USDA Organic ingredients at the top of each ingredient list wherever possible, meaning, that ingredient constitutes a substantial percentage of the formula and can have a substantial impact on your skin, as opposed to the bottom of the ingredient list where it constitutes a minimal amount and a minimal impact. This ensures we are delivering the most nutrient rich ingredients to your skin for optimal performance and nourishment while not delivering unnecessary synthetic pesticides onto your skin and into your body.

HEALTH & WELLNESS ELEVATION:

Our goal is to help elevate your health and wellness through holistic skincare. What does that mean? It means taking a full body approach to skin care. Since the health of our skin is intricately intertwined with the health of our bodies, we want to help illuminate and bring awareness to those connections. We want to help pinpoint the unique intersections of skin health and body health in your life in order to facilitate positive change.

NEXT LEVEL, CLEAN, CUSTOM, SMALL BATCH FORMULAS: You've probably heard the term "clean" skincare before. One of the reasons why it gained traction within the industry is because "natural" brands were getting sued or were threatened with lawsuits for using the term "natural" to describe an ingredient that did not come directly from the earth, and underwent some sort of processing. So the pressure was on to create a new term. The drawback to "clean" is that there is no regulation surrounding its use so it has become a very generous description of a somewhat non-toxic formula. A "clean" formula can even contain phenoxyethanol. And I wouldn't touch that ingredient with a 10 foot pole. I literally will not allow in my lab. To me it has the potential to be that toxic. So on one hand we are obligated to use the word "clean". But our formulas are not just clean, they are so much more than that. We prioritize organic ingredients wherever possible especially at the top of each ingredient list. Some of the products are certified USDA Organic. There is another highly regulated certification called Ecocert and just like Certified Organic, a product can be Certified Ecocert or you can use Certified Ecocert ingredients in the product. Our products are not Certified Ecocert, but we use Certified Ecocert ingredients wherever possible and we now have those ingredients called out on each product page. We use dual purpose, plant-derived preservatives like Honeysuckle, Aspen Bark Extract, Radish Root Ferment,

one of our formulas through certified organic ingredients wherever possible, ecocert approved clean processed ingredients , quality and ingredient into our formulas for the benefit of each and every one of you. That is more important to us than distribution, scaling and relevance.

Every ingredient we choose, every formula we create and every batch we produce is for the benefit of our customers. For this reason, we are currently a direct to consumer business. Distribution often requires prioritizing retailers and investing in advertising over the customer and marking up prices enough to absorb 50-65% off wholesale.
